一 |     Ever since Deepika Padukone exited Prabhas-starrer Spirit reportedly citing work shifts, the debate regarding professional work hours became the hottest topic in the film industry. The discussion about standardizing working hours – pushing for an 8-hour workday – has been ongoing. While actresses like Rashmika Mandanna have also weighed in supporting the need for healthier and regulated work hours, Keerthy Suresh is the latest actress to voice her opinion.               Keerthy gives a work shift breakdown     As part of promotions for her upcoming film Revolver Rita, Keerthy addressed the debated subject about an 8-hour workday in a press conference. She has made it clear and underlined that the thought of a “fixed shift” rarely reflects the reality of an actor’s life. “I do all kinds of shifts; 9 to 6, 9 to 9 and 9 to 2,” she commented. “While shooting for Mahanati, I have also shot for five other films. But I have also worked for films where the shooting was from 9 to 6.” The actress stated that while everyone discusses the 9–6 shift work hours, very few understand what actually happens behind the camera, and even the regular shifts are more demanding than it appears. Keerthy literally gives a breakdown on how work happens behind the camera. For me, I work both ways. In a 9-6 shift, I have to be ready with make-up on the set by 9; so I have to be on the sets by 7:30…means I have to leave at 6:30 for which I need to wake up at 5:30.          ‘Hardly get six hours of sleep’     Keerthy's statements underscore the persistent hierarchy of labour in the film industry. According to her, by the time actors complete work and return home, it’s already 10 PM. While everyone needs eight hours of sleep daily, Keerthy points out that it’s actually hard for actors to get that privilege during shoots. “What time do I have to wake up in the morning? At 5.30, we hardly get six hours of sleep, even when it's a 9-6 regular shift,” said Keerthy, who recently got married to boyfriend.     Also Read: Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Keerthy Suresh’s Meet Up Surprises Fans。    London, Oct 15 (UNI) Environmental activists threw tomato soup over Vincent van Gogh’s over $80 million worth 'Sunflowers' painting at the London’s National Gallery, in their latest “direct-action” stunt targeting works of art.

The gallery said on Friday the protesters caused “minor damage to the frame but the painting is unharmed”. The National Gallery on its website says the signed painting from 1888 was acquired by the gallery in 1924.

Just Stop Oil aims to end UK government involvement in oil and gas and has mounted a series of high-profile protests.

London’s Metropolitan Police said its officers arrested two protesters from the group for criminal damage and aggravated trespass.

The two after they “threw a substance over a painting” at the gallery on Trafalgar Square, glued themselves to a wall just after 11 am, social media videos showing the footage have gone viral.

Police said they had unglued the protesters and taken them to a central London police station.

The National Gallery said the two protesters “appeared to glue themselves to the wall adjacent to Van Gogh’s Sunflowers” and threw a “red substance” at the painting. The room was cleared of visitors and police called, it added.

After glueing themselves to the wall, one of the activists shouted: “What is worth more, art or life?” The activist group said the painting has an estimated value of $84.2 million.

“Are you more concerned about the protection of a painting or the protection of our planet and people?” she asks.

In the video, someone can be heard yelling “oh my God” as the soup hits the canvas, and another person shouts “Security?” while soup drips from the frame onto the floor.

Just Stop Oil said in a statement its activists threw two cans of Heinz Tomato soup over the painting to demand the UK government halt all new oil and gas projects.

It later tweeted that the protest’s message was “Choose life over art”.

“Human creativity and brilliance is on show in this gallery, yet our heritage is being destroyed by our Government’s failure to act on the climate and cost of living crisis,” the group said.

The gallery called the works “among Van Gogh’s most iconic and best-loved works”.
